MacMillan Youth Centre

MacMillan Youth Centre is a unique ten bed facility which provides services for youth (Grades 7 – 12) in open custody and open detention. They are referred through the courts.

The School Program is a partnership between Salvation Army Correctional and Justice Services and the Halton District School Board. This partnership includes communication between probation officers, child and youth workers, teachers, parents, social workers and counsellors.

An individualized academic program is strength-based in literacy, numeracy, Healthy Active Living and aims to promote social skills and self-esteem. The ultimate goal is to ensure a smooth reintegration to the student's home school community.

Length of stay tends to be short.
